I thought I had better post this here. Don't buy from these wankers!!

This eBay company sucks: vintage_bike_parts_fector <BAD REVIEW

I usually will not buy anything form India due to quality issues. I decided to make an exception. I ordered a new commando seat for my 850 on Jan 29th. They sent me a tracking number and told me its shipped. They lied.
Estimated delivery Thu, Feb 10 - Thu, Mar 3
Tracking number: 9473324873

I followed up to see where my seat was as did not receive it (March 14th). The tracking number still said it was on the way. The seller responded today and told me (March 16th):

Seller’s message: "Dear Buyer, Greetings!!! Thanks for the placing an order. The seat which you have ordered- We have contacted to the manufacturer - Now they are not manufacturing this item. Due to this - we would be refunding to you full amount but we have negative balance in my eBay's Payoneer ac due to this we are unable to refund you. Would request you to please wait for 3 to 5 days once we would be getting any order immediately we would refund you. Extremely sorry for inconvenience caused by us. Thanks,"

Complete BS in my opinion.

So where is the best place for me to buy a seat with silver logo in the US? I need one for my 850 with silver Norton logo. I don't want an Indian one anymore. Since my 850 was painted candy red and silver, I don't want the one with Gold lettering that is currently on the bike.

What a bunch of BS.

I don’t know if the same applies over the pond, but if I’ve ever had a non-delivery issue then eBay have refunded immediately on being asked and provided with proof - which you have.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell no one has them now. I need two for finished bikes that only need seats. Generally JRC, Wassell, and I have them, but I've not been able to get any for about 6 months. There is a gold letter one on eBay right now, but they want way too much.

On Feb. 11 I ordered a seat for my 72 Commando with silver logo from Classic Bike Shop in the UK. It arrived about four days later at my door in Georgia, USA. The total cost including UPS shipping was $ 275.69, the exchange rate at the time was $1.00=0.7037 BP. The seat is great and I'm very satisfied with it.
On the site this seat looks to be out of stock but the 750 Roadster S seat appears to be the same but without the passenger strap, not sure about that, maybe you could check with them.

A while back, I repaired a car seat and dyed the repair panel to match. I got the dye kit from a classic car seat renovation specialist. I don't have details, but I found them via Google. The kit included a cleaner and an acetone smelling substance that temporarily softens the vinyl, ready to bond with the dye. The dye was very opaque and has stood the test of being rubbed on a few bums since! Can you trace the gold logo, to make a stencil? If so, then spray or sponge / dab on silver vinyl seat dye.

AN is out of stock on ribbed Roadster seats (06.1866) but has the seats with the squares pattern (06.5234). I'm pretty sure they are interchangeable fit wise.

I got one on the way from Baxter’s $350
Got a nice one with gold lettering for sale now. Will put on classifieds section
