See the post on "belt versus chain".

I still have a problem when "ashman" gets 70000 miles from a decent chain (I stress decent) accepting
the mass clammer for belts.

The bullet proof Merc big pin chain costs around £60 and is light at 1kg, expect over 50000 miles depending
on riding style.

I have no issue with belts on the whole but they are not a magic cure all. Pete on here also mentioned the
gearbox sprocket for altering gearing and yes the Commando used 2 or different teeth numbers. However
if you in USA and using O ring or heavy duty chain, I will wash my mouth later, you will huge problems
getting the required crank links to give correct adjustment.

So much has been said and so little advice has been taken, for those that have taken my advice I apologise
but this topic keeps raising its ugly head.

Doh, That'll teach me for trying to do 15 things all at the same time. Dropped my reply in the wrong post

Anyway...

Thanks ever so much for the posts, read the belt v chain thread too. I also had a chat with Steve (What a lovely fellow!), ever so helpful about his belt drive, whether I'd be needing the outrigger, or not.

Sufficed to say I don't think I'll be needing one, so have placed my order with him. Should get it in a couple of days

If any of you are wondering why I chose this one over the RGM kit, was (Beside the fact I'm always seem to be drooling over the bling @ the Maney website), that RGM was showing out of stock.
