The Zandvoort stunt was the last, at 57 I realize that luck will not always be with me.
In Zandvoort I was close to dying like Janne d'Arc
At 57 it was time to be the age of reason

Hi there, here is the link to You Tube, the engine was runing very smooth, no smoke, no oil leaks, as you can see I still have to do a lot of work hope to do a road test next week.
To day I stay home, feel very tired.
Tomorow I will retorque the head and start finishing the loom

I would like to see whatever you have, There was a time long ago where we had a show here in the U.S. on TV that was called "Thrill Seekers" where guys like you would do all types of stunts. Me and my Dad and brother loved it, some of the things people think of doing are can we say "Nuts" but I can say it was fun to watch. Thanks for taking the time to post them. Chuck.

Hello, this is what I did on Saturday and Monday: tighten the cylinder head and adjust the valves and continue polishing some parts and the electrical circuit.
In fact with a 0.5mm copper cylinder head gasket which, unlike an original gasket, does not compress, I did not find any difference to the torque wrench.
The next step will be to complete the electrical circuit and then do the first road test.
Today I did not work, I received my anti covid 19 vaccine.

I noticed when using the starter, that sometimes the starter pinion did not drive the ring gear fixed on the clutch housing.
In fact the teeth of the crown were worn out.
what happens is that when the engine is stopped, it always stops just before the TDC, which means that the starter always attacks on the same teeth of the crown.
Today I took off the crown and J.N. Gindrat sent me a new one (old model) by UPS.
Gindrat suggests that he should make a thicker crown (8mm in place of 6mm) and the teeth one mm higher. I will have the new crown in a few weeks.

My best joke of April 1st:
In Vilvoorde there is a canal about 40 meters wide. with the members of the nautical club, we announced in the local newspaper, the arrival of the aircraft carrier US Forestal.
We had put stars and stripes along the bank and a platform received from the city.
My friends did not believe that the joke had worked, but on the day and hour announced a few thousand people had gathered, the mayor of Vilvoorde in the lead.
The Forestal is imitated by the passage of a speedboat pulling an April fish.
Must be at 1972.

Sorry for my prolonged absence, but following my Pfeiser vaccine I was very ill.
I'm better now and here's the latest news:
When the engine was started for the first time (see video) the engine seemed to be running perfectly, after tightening the cylinder head and adjusting the valves, the engine was running badly.
I removed the valve covers, and I noticed that the right inlet valve pushrod had come out of its housing in the rocker arm. How is it possible? Of course I was able to put the pushrod next to the rocker arm, but the engine was running perfectly during the first start.
I had put a lot of grease between the pushrod and the rocker arm, it is possible that this created a thickness between the pushrod and the rocker arm and that when the grease was diluted too much play allowed the pushrod to escape.
I submitted the problem to Jim Schmidt and he thinks the valve may have stuck in his guide, but I knew I had measured the tolerances and it was perfect.
I undid the adjustment screw completely and I was able to put the pushrod back in its place, no visible damage and the engine is running perfectly now.
If you have any other ideas for the cause of this problem, please let me know.
A couple of friends have three children, two whom they made together and a Congolese who they adopted.
Their names: Jack, Bambula Sese Coco Mobutu and John.
Jack is Congolese.
