I was talking to Fred (old britts) at the norton rally last yr in WA. and he said they don't ship to canada. so Tornado how did you get it?
I live in Vancouver and use a mailbox service just across the border. Takes me about 1.5 hrs total trip there and back including crossing waits.
I believe there are also US mail forwarding services that ship retail packages to Canada if you are too far to collect directly.

There is another option for thistool from Norvil. Looks to be a more refined design ratherthan a plate with nylon spacers but it has a higherprice tag.

Found one on an ebay vendor listing in Canada:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Norton-Comm...llaneous-Parts-/223720977200?oid=264005300689

I made an offer on this at $50CAD but vendor came back with $68. I passed and went with OldBritts. Use that as you will.

How about using Loctite bearing lock on the intermediate spindle if it is a slightly loose fit. Just floating an idea to see if anyone has done this, never tried it myself.

I think I dodged a bullet!

New shaft came today and it fits super tight. No wiggles at all!!!

Possibly my first screw up?

You are lucky
Make sure you use the correct tool or cutaway timing cover to support that pin when you tighten the camshaft sprocket nut
Cheers

Didn't see the "tight" shaft bottom, now installed", as having the lube hole and flat facing down toward the the crank.?

This is how I learn. The oil feed hole is now positioned where it needs to be and the sHaft is as tight as it should be.

Thanks for all of your help. I took a disaster and it ended up ok.
