Could be . It sparked a very Quick response .

So what are you doing on a bureaucratic forum? :)

I'm getting a bit worried about you.
You're not in customs are you?
Looking for hidden super chargers down people's pants?

"Commando fitted with a super charger can't be imported into Australia. "

According to All American Imports who I use and they do a lot of bike and car importing, it wouldn't be accepted. They are the only source of info I have on the matter.

Pre 1989 extract from Dept of Transport. Basically if you have a brochure and attach it to the application you have no worries. Pre 1989 is the key.

This option allows for the approval of the applications to import road vehicles not fitted with identification plates that were manufactured before 1 January 1989.
This option caters for the importation to Australia of older vehicles that would have once been regulated by the State and Territory Governments before 1 January 1989 with the passage of the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989. This includes enthusiast, classic or historic motor vehicles that are destined for restoration and hobby use

I don't make a habit of reading Government websites. I am too busy with business matters. Greg from All American Imports handled all the requirements and he knows them backwards. But rego is not his area of expertise. I got it sorted in a morning off my own bat and the Fastback was registered. Even the RTA boofheads don't know what's on their own website.
Frankly, I've got better things to do than waste my time doing some pen pusher's job for him. I just get it done.

A pineapple... not a "Hobitism" but has something to do with ya rectum and the inability of using a bit of humility when negotioating with those that you would "need" to be on your side.. (And your a Banana bender and dont knoew pineapple!!!)

I'm not a banana bender knucklehead.
You obviously can't comprehend a post.
Humility about what? Seems I like my Commando a lot more than you do.
And "Hobitism" is spelled "hobotism"
Keep up the good work Chris.

Mine never left home. I phoned the inspection station, advised numbers and said if you are good boys, I'll give you $100 to go and sort it with the RTA. They sent the plate by mail. Which is sitting in there somewhere in that monstrous pile of unopened mail. Why do I need a plate anyway?

But seriously Ashley, apparently QLD requirements are now that the bike be road tested. My brother's just been through the exercise. But he too got around it. Some "contractor" came to his home, loved the bike and completed the paper work. That was it.
