I made the mistake of ordering from AbeBooks. The price was good, delivery quite quick but the book arrived damaged.
It was squeezed into the smallest size bubble jiffy bag that it could fit, with no other protective packaging. Guess what, the corners of the outer covers are all bent.
I have entered into a dispute with AbeBooks. I want another (new, undamaged) copy in return for the damaged one. They say send it back via a tracked delivery and they will refund me when they receive it. I reply asking how I will be reimbursed for the return postage cost, because it is their fault that I want to return it. Replies received so far have ignored this.....the saga continues.
Belatedly, I thought I would google AbeBooks reviews and guess what, Trust Pilot rate them 2.2 out of 5 -'Poor.' It says it all, really. They're just another 'middle-man' which has come on the scene, with lots of fancy automated reply systems and no idea of customer service.
Sorry, that was a bit off-topic, but I'd hate anyone else to be in the same position when trying to buy this excellent book.
