Mikuni Carbs

Welcome.
Sticky stuff is bad.
Do you have a fiberglass fuel tank?

Hi Concours,
Um yes and I was really hoping it’s not responsible for the sticking. It was lined by the PO but not sure when and if recently, there is an initial wash out of contaminants. I wonder, is that likely?
Do have a new raw steel tank and am looking for someone in the Cookeville/Crossville TN area to paint it along with the steel side panels.
Thanks

Had the exact same issue with a sticking slide on my Mikuni carb .. The glass tank had been lined using POR . After several teardowns of the carb to keep functional and safe to drive i threw it away and bought a new aluminum tank . NEVER an issue after that . The faster you can ditch that tank , the better .

Get a metal tank, a GOOD one, and cut your losses. EMGO tank has had good reviews

@bill may have a recommendation for a painter in TN.

TEST FIT and LEAK TEST (3psi air, soapy water ) the new tank prior to paint.
