Well that’s interesting mate, I’ve just been communicating with Matt today and he’s just got back from a trip and found a message from his local p.o telling him to bring back all the packages that were returned from AU, as usps have just started some delivery to AU again. So I’ve agreed to run the gauntlet and see how it works out. I will post the results... in time... :). Matt also said that although the service to AU was recomencing, that does not include NZ
NZ is just in the process of reopening our borders, so hopefully that will change soon.

I ordered an e-start from Matt at Christmas, he was unsure then about freight to NZ, so hopefully it will change.

Comet, I reckon you’ll love it, such a reliable unit as many have testified. I think I paid for my ISOs nearly 8 months ago and ordered my headsteady a bit after that. It’s just all the crap that’s gone on with covid that’s affected all sorts of supply chains and the usps issue was just another problem. I have allways been happy with Matt’s stuff and it’s worth waiting for, covid has taught me patience, but wow enough is enough. That news about NZ opening may do the trick.

8 months!!!

That's crazy. I ordered Andover Norton parts about a month ago and they turned up in 8 days.

Has the USA closed itself off from the world ?

It's not NZ. I have had many parcels from over the world in the past 18 months. One sent FedEx took about 20 days from the UK but the rest were the normal 7 to 10 days.

Outawak, thanks for that, it’s strange to hear that. Were the parts you received sent via USPS or an affiliate? I only talked to Matt on Monday, and all he said was he thought d.h.l was a good idea, so this confuses me. I think everything I’ve ever received from Matt in the past has been labeled “vintage m.c parts” I
Yes USPS i'm the procurement specialist for a timber milling company and we import a lot of parts from Canada and the USA. The Canadian Postal Service was not sending or receiving parcels from Australia in January.
I was talking to Matt about a 520 chain conversion, no mention of shipping problems.

John, when I referred to supply chain issues, they affect all manufacturers, including Matt and Comnoz . Jim couldn’t get parts for his Cnc machine and it was only after xmas that matt took over production of the headsteady ,which has been out of production for about a year. Matt also had to wait for parts to finish the ISOs. Once he got it sorted, then the usps thing stuffed things up again. I think if you look at Matts site you will see a lot of his parts are out of stock, mainly because of supply chain issues. Even rgm and andover suffer from that with some products. The usps issue was created by usps supposedly withdrawing the Australian route to use aircraft on internal u.s routes. If you go back and read gortnippers earlier post ,you may get an insite into usps. I have continued to receive parts from India , u.k and basically anywhere that doesn’t use usps. Although that( hopefully ) is about to change

So hopefully an end to this issue. Matt has just told me , yesterday NZ is open for all usps services.. Australia is open only on express. It still takes a couple of weeks like normal priority stuff , but at least it’s all moving again and hopefully will return to completely soon. So not only do you guys in N Z have a better prime minister, now you’ve beat us on getting full usps service. I reckon this can be quietly put to bed now and thanks for all the input and options offered. Today on the south coast looks like it will be a good day for a ride:)
