Exhaust Thread Repairs

I have just rebuilt a Norton twin engine for a freind and could not find any one local here in South Australia to replace the damage exhaust threads at a price that is reasonable. So I have worked with a friend of mine so this can be done with a lathe and we have made a jig to put in a threaded Alloy Bronze insert after boring out the damaged thread. Both of us are mature age tradesmen and are semi retired. We are doing these types of repairs to help fund our love of these old bikes. I will have to post a picture later of the repair as I am having trouble getting my picture attached

Good for you. I would think that there would be many Norton owners who would need your service in Australia.
