For the senators who made impeachment a matter of partisan loyalty
rather than a question of the rule of law, yes I can see how interest overrides such niceties as Trump tweeting against a witness as she was giving evidence ! Truly shocking .
But what of the American public, many of whom are going to die from covid. One thinks of Thomas Carlyle ' the public so many millions mostly fools'
