Bucket List Flight

They guy behind getting the plane out of there was
· Darryl G. Greenamyer . I raced against him at Reno air races in 2002 and 2003 . Experimental aircraft . We qualified in the gold placed 3 first year and second the next year.
but we did set a world speed record at Reno the first year .
It was fun .
The man's stoicism (!) at the end of that film was incredible..... Respect due.

What a cool story! Sometimes those unexpected finds turn into the best memories. Speaking of unexpected, I once stumbled upon some seriously cheap business class flights while planning a trip to New York. It was like winning the travel lottery! Anyway, back to FiFi - what an incredible piece of history to stumble upon. Glad you followed your curiosity, haha.

Anyone remember/see the documentary on a grounded B29 in the frozen North somewhere?
Absolutely heart breaking watching it come back to life to die again so cruelly.....
He tried to play Indiana Jones with an irreplaceable artifact and destroyed a piece of history. IMHO he was/is an arsehole.

Four hours ago, I met a US veteran, Warren Goss, now 99, returning to a village behind Utah beach, Normandy.
Travelling with his nephew, they had taken a flight in a Dakota: the actual lead aircraft on D Day of about 800!!!

( He was stationed near Falmouth for a year before June ‘44, and took part in the Slapton Sands landing exercise, where a lot of men were lost when German U boats spotted them, but his craft was unharmed.)

I know it's been a while, but I get why you’d want to add a bucket list flight to your plans. There’s something so magical about being up in the air, watching the world unfold below you. Whether it’s a scenic helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon or a cozy hot air balloon adventure at sunrise, these experiences can be life-changing. I recently took a flight over some beautiful mountains, and let me tell you, the view was breathtaking!
If you can, make it a point to add to your bucket list. It’s one of those things that you’ll remember forever. Plus, it’s a great way to make some incredible memories.

This thread reminds me that prime flying season is here, so I'd better get my ultralight back in the air (but not in THIS manner)...
