Thanks for confirming... but now a friend pointed me to the Avon Road Runner AM9 Classic/Vintage Motorcycle Tire -4.10-19 - a bit more expensive, but with a more vintage look. I cruise around our backroads and want a smooth ride - can you help me choose between the two? AM26 or AM9? Do you ride an alternative? Willing to make a recommendation? Thank you, Chris
I haven't found anything better than the am26 for the Norton.
They turn an old bike into something that can hold its own against most modern machinery, as far as handling is concerned.
the AM9 is a copy of the dunlop tt100 with it straight line center groove. it will track imperfections in the road. the AM26 is a FAR better tire IMHO and would NEVER think of going back to the old style tire.
Just fitted Road Riders scrubbed in and now brilliant, OK it's not the classic look but hey I want grip all round and a safer lean angle, I'm a happy bunny, now I need to sort the carbs.
