Oil tank vent tube drains to catch bottle. For 25 years I used a Rislone bottle. Now it is a small Pump water bottle. Sign of the times.

I know a Norton (Model 88) which has a hip flask as the catch bottle.

I replaced my Mark IIA battery tray with one that I fabricated. The tray is made out of aluminum alloy and steel then riveted together. I made it so that the battery has about 1/2 inch clearance from the oil tank. That way I didn't need to put any padding on the oil tank. The rubber pad for the battery is for a BSA/Triumph battery tray. I also made it so you could use either a Mark IIA side panel or the non IIA types by simply changing a bracket. The velcro strap that holds down the battery is something I bought from McMaster-Carr. I have about 15,000 miles on this setup and it works just fine.
I also fabricated the battery tray so that the front support arm can be removed thereby giving me access to the left hand isolastic PTFE bearing for cleaning and lubrication.

Nice and tidy.

Condensation carrying a small amount of oil vapors. I have thought about using one of these on a shorter line instead.

just used a couple pieces of 1/4-20 all-thread, a piece of aluminum stock with a rubber isolation pad and lock nuts. when I got the bike, there was nothing - have no idea what the previous owner did or used.

Here's what I went with for the battery. There's a rubber pad under the battery. There's foam pad behind the battery and a small pad in front. The battery is absolutely solid. It's a 2in wide strap.

I was going to add a Velcro pad to the battery as a backup but I'm not sure I'll need it. Maybe I'll just pack several zip ties in my emergency kit.
I like it! I've been thinking about something like that but you found the right thing! My metal hold downs are nice but must be custom made for the battery which can be a bit of a pain. Thanks for posting the link!

As a security measure, I generally don't click links in emails, pubic forums, etc. I copy the link and post it into the browser. In this case, the visible link was fine, but the actual underlying link was broken. Dave's repost of the link is fine and you can tell that by putting you cursor over the image and looking at the underlying link (bottom of the screen in my browser). The underlying link in the first post was "amazon%20link" which is no link at all.

Show me your favorite and cleverest non-standard battery hold down.

If someone doesn't show at least one bungie cord I'll be disappointed.

But I'd rather see some trick setups.

And... go!
Back in the day I would sell the stock angle bar with two stainless steel spokes in a kit, now a piece of industrial strength Velcro does a better job, cleaner installation and really secure.
