I took some measurements of panniers and racks from a 1983 BMW R80RT with original Krausers and Hepco and Becker racks and panniers that I purchased new in 2013 and mounted on my 71 /5. Here is the 83 Krauser:




And here the 2013 Hepco:




The only differences in the bags are the latches, and the Hepco bag is about two inches deeper.
