I was racing my 500cc Triton when the CB750 Hondas arrived. In those days, all road races were push start. It was really funny when pushing your guts out to hear the scream of a CB750 when somebody pushed the button. But I could still always beat them off the start. Climbing aboard stuffs a lot of guys. I can ride my bike absolutely flat-out while sitting side-saddle, and hit second gear as I step over. Push-starting a bike which has high handle-bars is not good. It was really funny when they held the first historic race in Victoria - I was halfway around the circuit before any of them got started.
