961 Carbon Fiber

I was going to suggest Zero Limits Carbon in the UK. I purchased a couple of items for my 961 from them and the quality was really good.

Difficulties followed when Norton ceased trading with Zero Limits and Norton raised IP issues for the reproduction of carbon parts; Zero ceased producing the parts. The thread is on the site somewhere.

Thought since the impending demise of Norton things may have changed however I believe that Zero have now ceased trading. Owner was seeking to sell the business but could not find a buyer. I'll leave it to the research pro's to investigate the Dark Web and find some truths ref Zero Limits.

Do have a spare new standard rear hugger so may see if I can get one copied would think maybe some carbon manufacturers would start to do some parts now Norton’s gone tits up
 
CNW and Richard-07 had some parts, extensive thread on the forum where they were basically strong armed into submission by Norton, things have all changed, would be great to see CNW and Richard breath some life back into this aftermarket opportunity.
 
I don’t see how Norton ever had a say so in aftermarket carbon fiber parts. Anyone can reverse mold Norton’s carbon pieces. Before the collapse or now.
Aftermarket car part suppliers reverse mold oem hoods, fenders, doors, etc and sell them and not a thing the oem manufactures can do about it.

besides. The biggest freaking con man that stole anything was chief asshole himself SG.

Correct, there is a EU ruling that protects the aftermarket from the OEM's, as long as you do not include TM symbol's its ok.

But if you are dealing with a bully with a legal team then it costs you to defend those rights, if your profit on a low volume producer is a few £100 a year then it makes sense to just give in to the bully.
 
Have tried carbon king but can’t help will try to make some more enquire s must be some one out there who could make a few up
 
It would be wonderful if we could buy directly from Norton's source. I know the latest version of carbon fiber parts that I bought from Norton was very good .
 
I have messaged some one who I have bought Harley carbon bits of in the past based in the uk have asked if it may be possible to make some rear huggers of new spare part I have iam going to send some photos of to him haven’t said what bike there from as from past experience as soon as you mention high end bike or car price triples
 
I was bored last week and decided to make airbox covers.
The plan was to make next winter a complete airbox, and enlarge it. But I’m happy I did this last week by a quick and dirty method. Not the highest quality in the weave but good enough for now. Stil a improvement.

Yes... but now we know, Mr. Ponzi couldn't afford a legal team to protect his interest.

Hi Stephen,

Well, I’m still planning to do the air box. Until that’s done I made some temporarily carbon covers so everything matches a bit, see one of my other posts. Quality is not great good enough for the time being. I notice that the air box is getting less attention currently so I guess they will last longer. The only reason I would make a new airbox is to make it also a bit larger and more efficient. Still figuring out where to put the seams because fitting it in the frame would be problematic Nas one part.
I have worries about the noisy shorties and figuring out how to deal with this. So this is having some priorities currently.
I will add some picts With the final result :)

How about keeping the central part of the airbox as is, cutting the sides off, and making attachable ‘extended’ sides in CF ?

Yes side scoops , with k&n type air filter panels . These need to detach to get the air box out , good idea !
 
Awesome! Carbon tail unit with the flag motif looks the business! Side panels too.

Definitely think it has a more balanced look with the ally tank than the standard tail unit does. Look forward to seeing the final results. And then of course you’re going to start manufacturing them for sale to Access Norton members :) !???
