'Scuse my ignorance @cliffa but what's been converted?
Hi Rob, the seat and tail fairing ( which houses the ECU, relays and fuse box ) has all been replaced with a dual seat. It must have been a tight squeeze. I don’t think it would be possible on a Euro4 bike which also houses the ABS paraphernalia.
This is a picture of the same bike before the changes…

Ahhh - thanks Cliff - for responding to my ignorance.
Cheers 👍

To be honest, for me the most interesting aspect is how he (or she) ((or it?)) managed to get all the gubbins in the seat hump under that flat seat.

Of course, If I were to do it, the front tyre would be like a balloon, the exhausts would be wrapped, the seat would be brown and flat as a witches tit with a sissy bar on the back.

Oh, and I’d call it a cafe racer

WIth no ABS there is plenty of room between the rails and under the seat.

Actually, I just enlarged the photo. They added some metal to the underside of the frame from the shock back the turn signal it appears to box it in

Different opinion on both counts really.

Don’t mind the rear end conversion on the early 961 (not really a cafe racer conversion) - especially if that seat is a professionally made real leather item that it appears to be. Some dislike the ass end of the standard 961 - from certain angles it can look disproportionately large. Personal choice I guess. Switch out those looooooong pipes for the shorties and that’s still a nice lookin’ machine!

There’s a lot of fantastic cafe racer conversations out there I think - even on Jap bikes. Lots of crap ones too of course. Guess it just depends on whether you’re into the Cafe Racers thing or not.

I agree. Big difference is the 961 above looks like they just cut the tail and added a cheap seat type where this has nice flowy lines and looks the parts
