Clutch work on my N15CS, some interesting challenges

Map Cycle has throttle cables. That is where I got them for the Mikuni setup.
Throttle cables
I got the throttle cable, I tried to ask a tech about the difference between the cable ends, per msg #56 image above. No reply so I just went for it. 50/50 chance. Guess which 50 I got? You know the saying, if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

It's a quality item and I made it work. The aluminum end of the cable housing (ferrule?) is too big to go very far into the threaded adjuster, THAT is what Mikunioz points out. The piece is like a typical clutch adjuster with a slot to put the cable through. Using it 'as is' meant it was just barely in there, which made the cable unsteady and go off on an angle. Not good. It also made the cable about 1/4" too short within the sleeve. Crazy stuff I get myself into.

I made it work by ditching the adjuster and cutting some threads into the aluminum 'ferrule' end as I'm calling it. That made it fit solidly in the throttle housing and gave me the 1/4" I need on the cable. A real nail-biter. There's an adjuster on the cable anyway. That was about 3 hours of work to do a 15-minute job.

That 90-degree bend allows me to fit the carb just a tad off perfectly upright. The throttle action is about as light as can be and snaps right back. No more hanging idle between gears. This thread should be '(Mis)adventures of an N15CS owner'.
