Hi there,
I work only 3 days last week, I spend my workshop hours to go to the supermarket on monday and on tuesday I go to a carpenter friend to make a wooden box to ship some second hand parts to the UK and after I go to UPS to ship it.
The other days of the week I finish the striping of the bike.
We make the pics on saturday.
I start this week with a trip to the guy who will do the frame in a clear coat, the guy plan to blast the frame first then apply a clear anti-rust coat and finish with clear coat.
I see some pics from a Harris frame he did, fantastic work! To day I go to Fabory to buy some bolts and nuts.
Tomorow I will start with the polishing from the aluminium parts from the bike.
This is a hard work for me, you can not sit on a chair to polish, you must stand up and that is difficult for me with my bad hip.
About the frame: when you take the frame in your hand, you hare expecting something heavy, but no, it's feel so light. I close the window from the workshop, afraid it will fly away.
On another side the weels are so heavy.
The frame will be finish in two weeks.
Nothing news from the experts doctors, my expert was on holliday, my lawer also, and I suspect Calamity Jane also.
I realy dont like chrismas and new year, I must stay home between christmas and new year, Marina says it's a must.
Like every year I will watch Mary Popins and the Sound of Music on TV...

Yves please keep us posted on the details of the clear coat, that sounds interesting.

You mention the wheels are heavy, not sure what you can do about the rear, but on the front, have you considered going to a single disc?

I’m sorry to have been the cause of some ‘down time’ but the parts all arrived safely, thank you!
 
Looking good Yves! Keep the updates coming. I've torn my right shoulder up pretty bad (slipped and fell off a Blackhawk helicopter maintenance stand while getting my tools together). Surgery scheduled for Jan 15th. Afterwards I will have to train my left hand to do many jobs that have been in the right hands domain. Again, thanks for posting.

Hi Nigel, about the discs: the braking with the twin discs is amasing, I will not change it

Hi there,
I plan to do some polishing works to day, but my polishing machine is in a shed and no heater in the shed, and it was cold to day (4 celsius).
I am not afraid from the cold but you can not obtain good results when polishing in the cold, it must be at least 15 celsius to have the best results.
Monday will be a good day to polish, they forecast 10 celsius.
I spend my 3 hours to strip my TTI gearbox for inspection, so far so good.

Heavy wheels can be replaced with Mag alloy wheels, which I had on one of my racing bikes, they were made, as was then, by Campag.

Yes,....Well, actually I'm a Sailor that's retired from active duty, but still working for Uncle Sam , just with the Army now on Blackhawks instead of Seahawks, and yes in Japan (I met my wife here back in the 90's) Thanks though, the doctor believes there is a good chance for full recovery from the torn tendons etc.. Anyway enough about me, Please keep the updates on the Sunburst Saga coming. Cj
 
On another side the wheels are so heavy.

The trouble is, rubber weighs a ton. So do discs that are built to do the job.

Years ago, when I was about 9 years old my father used to do scrutineering for the Wellington Car Club. While at the Levin racing circuit one Saturday, one of the car drivers was showing us his car and told me to pick up one of the spare wheels. I could lift it over my head it was so light. The wheel was magnesium and the racing tyre had been made really light.

Thanx for what you guys do, most especially. My son is an Army Captain flying a Blackhawk Mike out of Grafenwoehr, Germany. His ground & shop crew have kept him whirly-side-up since he picked it up new in NJ some years back. I have a photo of him flying past the Statue of Liberty (taken from his brother ship). Sure miss that kid, haven't hugged him in almost a year (we visited last Christmas). Commiserations on your shoulder, my leg is in a cast with a plate & screws till the end of the year, and it feels like cr@p, with phantom irritation and pain where there is no damage (might be from the pain med pump stuck into the sciatic nerve for 3 days). I hope you have perfect results and a really quick recovery!

About your bike, Yves, you have me jumping out of my skin waiting to see the finished product! I'm sure it will make my eyes pop out...
 
Hi there,
Today I start polishing: the upper triple clamp and the side cover from the TTI box. It's hard work believe me.
I gad the feeling to be 20 years older sins de day of my crash.
Before my crash I wake-up on my side stand, no more now.
About sex, I gat jumper cables near my bed.

Don't worry about the wheels lol.
When John lent me the exhaust system to copy when I was building my Seeley Mk3 , it was "light" lol
There was nothing in it! It was so thin I should think as much noise came through the skin as out the megga.
