I thought I would find a thread that covers this but did not.

I have spent quite a bit of time and have been unable to dislodge this circlip (the one with no holes to grab). Is there a tool for this or a certain technique?

It pings off with a screwdriver.

This is a part that shouldn’t be re-used - always fit a new one.

And also remember that the factory manual is incorrect - it shouldn’t be tightened up to 70 ft lb

A more suitable torque is 40 ft lb

Just did one yesterday. Used a stout knife edge and small screwdriver. You will destroy it taking it off.

Yep! That worked. Once I knew I could destroy it, it became an easier task. Thanks!
