I’d like to see a picture of your riding gear if you have one available. Sounds great!

My Commute Suit!

Looks Great!!
Best thing was when someone at work said 'you look so young in that picture'
'Thanks it was only taken two months ago'. Couldn't get helmet on for a couple of days....

PS the Goldtop jacket is really great and an excellent price but has no armour so I can wear it as a fashion item - I use a KNOX urbane pro shirt underneath it which I would highly recommend.

One thing I've often wondered, whats the deal with the socks? Is it one pair over your jeans and then flipped over your boots or whats the strategy?

I've been procrastinating, but I too should wear a Knox shirt. My Schott jacket has no armor either. And I've gone down. It hurts.

There is a new Urbane shirt which can be worn as an outer. I used to have a standard urbane which was comfortable enough to wear on the pushbike....until the paramedics had to cut it off me in January. I now have the pro version which has an articulated plastic back plate instead of the yellow moulded one. Not sure which would be better at shock absorption.

Retro is great but for every day practicality you'd be foolish not to want one of these babies I saw last Monday;

I think technological crutches are neat....until they fail. I'd rather slow down with age and trust myself until I don't anymore.

Thank you.
I kinda assumed the Davida was superior.

What riding gloves do you guys like?

I have a pair or Schott leather riding gloves that are non lined and non heated.
Even in winter I prefer non lined gloves. I don’t like thick gloves as I prefer the thinner gloves because of the feel and lack of bulk.

I have 3 pair of these. They are just like the Ikon sold at Revzilla for twice the price. Saved my skin once. Bought two more pair. Fit great, really grippy goat skin. Unlined perforated breathes well. The lined are good down to about 50 degrees. Less and I wear a silk liner. 40 bucks is a steal.

For anyone hoping to get an iLid may I point out that the advert did appear on 1st April. Seems like the advert was a load of iBalls.

I've got an LSL, well I think it is as I put Norton stickers over the badge. With Aviators.

LS2 not LSL.

How do you like the V3? Does the fit compare to other brands?
How do you like the aviator goggles?
What Lewis jacket is that?

Sorry for all the questions lol

I have a brand new Schott Prefecto leather jacket that I only wore 2 times now. I currently have a bell bullitt carbon helmet I wear while riding my Dominator and it seems the jacket pushes my helmet forward on me head and drives my head downward. Can’t wait for it to break in. To stiff.

I preferred my motocross goggles that I used with a previous open face helmet but the opening on this one is narrower so I couldn't use them. I tried some old Stadium split lens ones but I had forgotten how horrible they were in the wet and dark. Now I have nearly forgotten how ridiculously expensive the Aviators are they are they're fine. I did buy a another pair of cheap copies off fleabay with clear lenses to avoid the faffing around of swapping them about but they are less comfortable. I wouldn't buy another pair of genuine ones if something happened to them.

BTW, the helmet is LS2 and not LSL.

Davida V3 is newish first impressions are good, you need pull open the shell to get in your head the fit is snug but it doesn’t move up at higher speeds, which I like. I need to test on a longer rides to see if wearing glasses causes any discomfort because of the close fit.
Aviator goggles seem very good and fit inside the v3 shell which my previous Bolle safety goggles didn’t.

The LL jacket is 70’s Europa which has enough room to fit my Knox armoured shirt under which works well. I also have a newish Lewis jacket bought from Urban Rider in London they collaborated with Lewis to produce armoured versions of the Monza and Racing jackets, expensive but have the heritage that no other brand can match other than Schott’s Perfecto.
