Who wore it better ?

Pics of my first worn out leather jacket, think I got my moneys worth out of it, its was a new Stagg jacket I brought new in 1976 ( paid $76 new) just after buying my new Norton, I brought it 2 sizes bigger than my skinny 9 stone 17 year old and grew into it, took me 35 years the replacement jacket was new but now starting to show its age (cost $400 but the wife ordered it).
Original leather and the last 2 pics the replacement leather.

Ashman,
That jacket looks like it needs some leather conditioner! I have always had good luck with keeping my stuff last quite a bit longer using different products.😎
Mike
I say this in jest as I am sure you know it.

Any other notables own Commandos besides Keanu and Clint?
I believe Keith Emerson and Anthony-Armstrong Jones (Lord Snowdon) did.
Plenty rode Triumphs and Harleys, but that's for the commoners.

Dick Emery.

(in various sketches he rode a BMW R90s, but there are photos of him on a Commando)

Seems Snowdon didn't have a Commando. Articles describe said as a 500cc. Here's actual

In the Crown, they're on a Triumph T100. Pity they were so lazy about authenticity.

Would a grub look better on an immaculate Commando ? I was up in Glenrowan a few years ago. There was an old guy with an SS100 Brough Superior. He was wearing one of those old style rain suits - I think they were Belstaff. He really looked the part. If I remember correctly - back in the 1960s, only racers wore leathers. Full leathers were not common on road riders. Marlon Brando wore jeans and a leather jacket in America. British gentlemen did not look like that, and half of them wore duffle-coats and desert-boots, and most probably did not back-chat the cops. They used to attend prayer meetings.

Seems like we've been here before:

I don't consider Jay Leno and Billy Joel true Norton junkies, they're collectors. I suppose I would be too if I had all that money. Two Commandos and a Ducati are more than enough for me to find time to ride.
