Who makes an oil pressure gage kit?

Yes, while analog looks cool… the digital gauge flashes and beeps from your preset settings…as I get older, I need all the attention grabbing alarms that I can get…🚨 especially oil pressure
Understood!!

I have this on the RZ350...
Flashes RED when you achieve the preset EGT threshold.
Makes you tense up, especially at night. Set at 1400F

Hey Brit,
What fairing are you using? That dashboard is very nice!
Thanks,
Mike
Hey Mike,
The fairing is a 1/4 Dunstall from Airtech…I made the dashboard with all the “modern” features… digital oi gauge, fuel gauge, indicator LEDs, voltmeter…not everyone’s cup of tea but works for me…
I see you’re in Pittsboro…I used to live in Chapel Hill for years…hard to believe we haven’t met yet…You going to the INOA rally?

Based on the comments in this thread, I purchased and installed an oil pressure gauge kit from Holland Norton Works for my 1974 MKII Commando Interstate. An excellent piece of kit! Stainless steel covered flexible hose. Well thought out and easy to install, with helpful instructions. Works great. 10/10!

When I installed my Holland Norton Waorks gauge, I did not route it back between the tank and the frame. The clearance was not good and I did not want it to rub.

I instead brought it forward and then back through the forks to the head. How did you do yours?

Hi Dennis:

Please see below photo that came with the install instructions. Mine was just the right length so it could be run parallel to, but below, the main frame tube and then reversed back to the cylinder head. In my case it does not rub the gas tank, (factory steel interstate), but I can certainly see that if the gas tank was a tighter fit around the steering head, it could be a problem.

Hey Brit,
I want to give you kudos for your wiring. No mess under the tank which always pleases me.

are there any pressure gauge kits that provide the feed from the oil junction block instead of the rocker shaft on the head?
Not seen one on a Norton located at pump end of rocker feed line, but there is a pressure switch fitting to give you a warning light flashing if pressure below about 5 psi. Don Pender sells the switch kit. You supply the warning light. I use it with the combined pressure, voltage warning light from ImprovingClassicBikes.

An actual pressure guage tapped off the pump end could be done with a suitable banjo arrangement. Or an automotive type electric pressure sender could be rigged, though likely needs to be one of the very slim ones to fit that area.

There’s no advantage to taking the reading from the timing cover end of the rocker feed pipe compared to the rocker end. It’s the same pipe, and it’s short, the pressure will therefore be the same at both ends.

For someone very serious about oil pressure at the crankshaft:
🤓
Drill, tap for 1/8 pipe thread, use a 90 degree elbow pointed down, run the line hidden.

The polished jewelry crowd would be appalled. 😱🫣
