The last Goldwing that I brought back to life puffed so much white smoke when I
first got it running that I was expecting a cracked head, leaking head gasket, etc.
What I found was that the carbs were way out of tune and it was running rich enough to fog out the neighbors.
Once I rebuilt them, the smoking was gone.
Just something to consider since I saw in the OP that the carb was worked on too.
