6" long 1/4 UNF bolt with vice grips at head end , sharp rap with a light enginners hammer, when screwed into AAU points/Pazon rotor , acts as a removal tool and also seconds for a rocker shaft removal tool in the head.

Are you sure the rockers are 1/4 unf? I thought they were CEI and like 5/16? As I remember the big end shell bolt went into them, no? I think the AAU is not UNF too, but I'd like to be enlightened.

The rocker spindle thread is 5/16" - 26 Cycle thread.

The standard camshaft thread is 1/4" BSF.

The AAU and (Boyer rotor) extractor thread is 5/16" UNF however it is possible to loosen the AAU from its taper with a long 1/4" bolt as described by Brooking 850 but only fitted loose in the AAU. The Pazon rotor extractor thread is M8.

Thanks LAB, pretty sure the Pazon comes with two x bolts of different thread size, depending on what bike type it is fitted to, not so sure about the M8 though

¼” BSF BOLT
¼” UNF BOLT
Fit the magnetic rotor into the end of the camshaft, using the ¼” washer
and one of the two bolts provided (UNF for Triumph, BSF for Norton).

(The 1/4 UNF is also suitable for some non-standard Norton camshafts)

The magnetic rotor centre thread
(metric M8) is provided for attaching a puller, if the rotor should need to
be removed for engine servicing, etc.

Thank you, since i fitted the Pazon some time ago, have had no need to remove it, so all of abit of a distant memory!!!
Regards Mike

L.A.B., isn't the con rod big end bolt a 5/16 CEI? I've got a friend I gave an old con rod big end bolt to and he says it's too big for his rocker spindle. Maybe the con rod bolt is not 5/16?
