I think when the brg shit itself it really stuffed up those drive pegs. Had to spend time grinding them so the weld would penetrate deeply. then had to shim them to the right place and belt them in before welding. Looks good though.

I've been through a few loose paddle repairs to conclude d/t how close the shoes pass by and hassle to grind below surface to have some bead left after grinding back essentially flush again I'd just drill 2-3 holes to fill in and lock paddle from twisting. Would not have to drill all the way through. i'd bet three ~1/4" holes filled with JBW would lock em up since tire loads are in shear not that much twist force till cushions decay. Maybe someday someone will 3D print a cycle out of JBW.
