DD is spot on, within the N.O.C. there is still the opinion of some members that the Rotary wasn't a 'Real' Norton . I had all this sh1te when I had my air cooled one, so I suppose that the very first Norton which had a Peugeot donk wasn't a real Norton either. On that basis right from the word go every Norton ever built is just a mongrel and imposter and a bitsa .
Spotted this in the local Triumph dealer - last one available in the country apparently. Traded in with 300 km on it. Sold within two days for a 2K mark-up from list. Dealer said he ‘could’ve got more but didn’t want to be greedy’!
First time I’ve seen the FE ‘in the flesh’. Nice, but didn’t get my juices flowing. It would have to be a TFC to temp me I think. The only bike in their range I’d really be interested in parking next to the Norton! They occasionally pop up second hand.
Less and less interested in mass produced bikes - guess it’s a time of life thing. What will Norton bring to the market and can they distinguish their offerings. Is there any point in even trying to challenge Triumph’s attempt at world domination (for the remaining lifespan of ICE vehs). I guess not, which is likely one of the reasons they’ve opted to occupy the premium space. It’s gonna be an interesting ride!!
They say that the Cafe Racer craze has had its day, but they keep churnin’ em out! Not a big beemer bloke myself, but I really like this R12S. They went for the higher bars as apparently, the R9T Racer S was so uncomfortable with the clip-ons it limited the sales to us old duffers! Makes sense.
