WE HAVE A NORTON OWNERS CLUB MEET INVITE IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ??????
Yep I’m as bewildered as u lot maybe,I’ve just received this invite from the local NOC ,sounds like we could be welcome & it’s another excuse to 961ing,however I’m aware it being the week b4 the National Motorcycle Museum & May not be appropriate timing, but for me I could be in if some of my new chums are to ,its centrally located ( 400 mile round trip for me ) but it may tempt the middle England guys to partake,so what’s the mood on this one ? Nice to have choices of venues & this is a first ,word is getting out there ???? ,comments ,proposal s, ideas & voices req please

It's about the same distance for me as the KH, Bury trip was and one of my route options, south of Oakham, is rated as a top UK bike run which I would love to do.

I think it would be cool to see an assembly of living, breathing Nortons and their owners so count me in if we get enough interest.

Chaps, would it be too ridiculous to suggest that we put the NMM meeting back till June and make this the May meet?

Hopefully bike back this week or next so may well be up for that one. A very manageable 70 mile round trip for me assuming weather is at least half decent.

The throttle bodies needed re-setting to get it exactly back to factory spec. That was done and shorties fitted, de-cat and remap. They were waiting for dry weather to road test and I told them to take their time as I had another steed. There have been some dry days now so am hoping I will hear maybe tomorrow. Initially the feedback was it maybe lambda sensors when I first reported the issue. Am I correct in saying that is the O2 sensors discussed at length on a different thread recently. Need to get some miles on it soon so I can enjoy the fuller rev range.

Get some O2 sensor eliminators from the eBay guy like the rest of us!

Not fitted mine yet though...

Yes may do, but maybe the factory will have done that? will see what they had to do and check with you guys once you have fitted yours. Is there a risk though that you will bugger up your warranty with all these mods?

Looking promising ,bang smack in de centre of UK & a quintessentially rather quaint & a historic venue ,& with designated parking thrown in !

As far as I’m aware, the factory don’t fit O2 sensors.

Not sure about warranty implications. I can’t think of anything they’d cause issues with though.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_sensor

They have lambda sensors which according to wiki are Oxygen Sensors. If they are more trouble than they are worth and causing issues, I would have thought the factory would eliminate them after fitting shorts pipes and de-cat. I have limited engine knowledge so have to trust their judgement

That’s a fair point to be honest. I don’t know enough about what they do either.

Perhaps the factory feels they add value and should be kept in situ?

But in general, it’s quite normal to remove them from bikes, and I’ve not heard of any down sides to doing so, not yet at least.

Yes I think that’s a reasonable sensible idea,if Stuart 2015 could edit the NATIONAL MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM to form a date in mid June then that could be beneficial to all, then that’s the next few months soughted & it cant be too long b4 the SUMMER BAR B QUES AT NORTON CENTRAL coming on song at fortnightly intervals ( WEDNESDAYS ) ,all things considered it’s not a bad start to the riding season after that cold weather ( well we thought it was cold )
Segregation in life is never a good thing, so with this invite from these NORTON chaps/ ladies ( maybe ) I think is great thing

Same here - I want to get used to the performance so I can compare the difference. Over the last week I haven't had any fast idle experiences so maybe it has settled down?
