I will be coming in from Grantham on the A606, will prob get to the roundabout A606/A6003(down to A47) around 11:15?
 
Change of plan. I'm heading to Oundle for 11:15/11:30 for a coffee (BEANS in the market square). Then on to the A14. Do you fancy a meet in Oundle? Not far from you. there will be two of us and your good self for a relaxed ride to Welford :)

Had a great day, many miles covered and loads of new 961ers met. Just the ticket :)
 
Wow what could so easily have been a dire day turned into something really special. Great company; great weather; great roads and a huge thanks to NOC for hosting us.

Today’s total was lucky “ 13” ,so we heading the right way, I posted an Instagram shot of 13 bikes together to Norton number 1 ( Mr Garner ) & he replied with approval, so the words out now,on a tangent has it ever occurred to any of u Nortoneers that if some of these world leaders of prime minister s & presidents all rode bikes,then ........ we might all get on, & from all our conversations today no one spoke about politics ,jobs,work,religion ,recessions,bad news , it’s was just bikes & mainly Norton’s & how we all individually arrived at the 961, so message there Stuart , can u send the World Leaders all a Norton !
 
Well done guys sorry I missed this. When and where is the next one? Bike Life Classics or Bike Night at Norton
 
Very true Richard. I think I overheard a couple of complimentary remarks about the quality of the pub grub... my burger was very delicious :)

Ditto , I’m watching my weight atm ,but I took on a “wharf inn burger “,hit the spot,& just to confirm there were no punch ups,but it was close call when a mod rolled up with a few dozen mirrors & lamps on it,in actual fact we couldn’t of upset our norton ancestor s that much as we’ve all been invited back next year,thanks again to Colin who invited us & yep pub grub went down well,Ideal central England rendezvous
 
Very enjoyable day, I nearly "wimped out" or rather I did the night before but quite amazingly the weather completely proved the numerous weather apps wrong and I met roger and mark at my local coffee shop in Oundle. Nice blast through my neck of the woods avoiding the new potholes and then a slightly less inspiring cruise to Welford on the A14. You cannot complain about boring roads when Blightly the Almightly journeyed from Kent and back to be there.

Thanks to the Northants and Leics owners club and the pub for having us. Nice steak and kidney pie and a pedigree to wash it down. The plan to get home was along the boring A14 but Roger (wodgedodge) convinced mxmartin and I to follow him on the back route to Oakam (although I peeled off at Uppingham) and I am glad we did. What a fantastic twisty turny country route, I am sure I got rid of many of my straggly edge dangly bits on my new tyres and was very pleased once again with the handling and brakes.

Arrived home, very little ear ache, collected an Indian for family and washed it down with an Abbot Ale. Not far off a 10/10 day. Well done gents for all the great pics
 
I got a text from Roger asking if I got 'air' over that hump-back bridge.... the bike was sure-footed and soaked it up but I came out of my saddle a good few inches!
