Maybe they are isolated cases but had been thinking about the 850's ignition for some time, one to many Tri Spark threads finally made the decision.
What ever the source of problems, a bike that can just stop is not my bag, poorly maintained is bearable being it is self governed.
If it stops due to a smoking con rod landing on the road is one thing, ignition systems with minds of their own, no thanks.
I think I am at the point where invoices go in the never look folder.

Tri Spark Ignition mystery

Time
Firstly, I noted the recent disappearance of some machines from your signature.
Now I notice too many to mention.
Do you own a bike shop?? :)

Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations as planning to fit the latest TS to the new MkIII.
Happy?
Sad?
Pissed off?
Can't answer?

The signature only allows 150 characters so like a shop window I change the dressing on occasion.
I only put anything there because like quite a few members have a varied interest in motorcycles so it is there to see like others.
Since 1976 I have purchased some 31 motorcycles but not sure how many I have of those still, 22 or 23, not sure.

Pazon has a great reputation plus I nearly have shares in the place given the last purchase of a full Smart Fire kit for the Simpson desert TR5T.
To many Tri Spark calamities for my far from home sense of security .

Thanks Time
Baxter's in Iowa who are building the new MkIII are now agents for Tri-Spark. So I'll run with it. My advantage is I can always walk home from the pub if it blows up. Today at the Mittagong shopping centre, I hit the green button and oil poured (like pressure poured) from the head. Too much oil to see the source, I suspected a broken rocker feed. Decisions had to be made fast. The bike shop was a lot closer than home but would I make it? I gave it a punt and made it into the workshop with oil everywhere, including my leg. Twas nothing but a split rocker spindle outer plate gasket, but man it made a mess. We fabricated another gasket and away I went. The boys down there are very good to me.

Now about this motorbike collecting fetish, you have piqued my sense of challenge.
Before Jenny gets back and skins me over the Fullauto purchase (which of course she won't),
I'm going on an insanely wild motorbike spending spree and then we can count numbers.
He who dies with the most bikes wins.
To help me assess my chances, how old are you and are you in good health? :)

It's not the guy with the most bikes that wins...it's the one with the most "cylinders". That's why you need a few Japo 4 cylinder bikes to up the count. :D

What about my V8 Victa lawnmower?
I actually have two of them.
And three MkIII Spitfires out at the hangar, each with twelve cylinders.
Time will be more cautious next time he issues a challenge.

His signature to me was like a red rag to a bull!
I know a challenge when I see one!

Lawnmowers and airplanes count...anything with an engine. It's all about cylinders. Here in the states the old slogan "The guy with the most stuff in the end wins." went out of style when people started counting any old junk and piled it in front of their houses to "show off". That's why counting cylinders is better, because at least then the junk has some substance. Engine blocks count too...they don't need to be in a vehicle or implement.

I understand that the English rating is 35 amp which translates to 17.5 amp American. Is that correct?
Correct. East of the Pond is running current, west of the Pond is break-down current. Most annoying...

Went out of style here when guys started killing each other, just to win!
The competition was outlawed.
But guys kept killing each other anyway, something about who paid for the last shout.

Alrighty Phil I've seen and used a flying lawm mower in England court yard. Be careful up there so please always fly lower and slower for security.

You are the only other guy in the WHOLE world that I've ever heard of, that knew this one, except my very old flying mate who told it to me.
I told it to Jenny just a couple of weeks back, but first had to explain height and speed effects on an aircraft. If I'm teaching her to fly, she will need to know these things.

During my farm attack, as per PM, I flew slow and very very very low. As you know.

Obviously under the influence of something, the Flymo was Swedish,do I need to go out and take a photo of my 'made in Australia Victa Two Stroke mower.

I am no collector Philip, just a long time carer of things mechanical until they are passed on to the next.. I'm also just your average 55 in October motorcycle enthusiast, roll on Argentina come February. :D
Motorcycles are about adventure and chasing horizons....... not to mention reliable ignitions.

Philp??
That's what mum called me when I was a naughty boy!
She ALWAYS called me Philip.

A carer of things, mechanical or otherwise I'd call a collector I think. I see no stigma in the name, Mr Warp.
I like to collect lawn clippings for example. But not for long.
I tip em over the neighbour's fence, along with my garbage.
They're terrified of me.
Erratic and highly unpredictable. Prone to attack for no reason.

Thanks for trying to get back on topic.
I always find it funny how posts end up.
I should have the new Tri-Spark on Friday.
It's supposed to reach 102 f this weekend.
Too freaking hot to ride. Have to get up early to beat the heat if I want to ride., either the bike or the lawn mower.

Thanks pete.
I'll start posting about the car in this thread. I guess that's what you meant.
I can't even find the Tri-Spark, but the dealer said it was definitely in there under the hood.
It was a $600 extra.

I didn't even know you were in the competition Guido.
Give Mary next door the honourable mention, she writes them.
I can't speak a word of English.
What do they say?

Its a rainy Friday afternoon here and the sound of a CT110 was the Pazon package arriving, they even threw in a chocolate bar. :D
Hope the new Tri Spark works out, I have done quite a bit of riding in the Outback on the DR plus work on the North West Shelf, temps get up around 51C / 53 C - 124F / 127F but beats being cold.

Finally received the new unit and all is well,,,,,so far.
It's supposed to be 109f today but I'm still gonna ride,,, early.

I still have to install my new digital Smiths Gauges I bought several weeks ago.
That may turn into another "help" post.
Wiring sucks when you are color blind.
