opinions. I found him as funny as tooth ache. the only time I would of laughed at him is, if his golf club broke and hit that other idiot bruce forsyth on the back of the head. used to build a lot around sunningdale. and my brother in law used to service their cars. a nastier more self centred pair of men you couldn't wish to meet.

Difficult to say, it could have come from a Russian durning the Crimean war, but its believed it goes further back than that, Willipheira is all over the place on this quote, look it up!

popular through tv and other media. As a man I found him nasty and entitled. where as. russ abbott who lives there aswell is the nicest most humble man you could ever meet. your choice. john bohnam stayed at 500 hotels but you wouldn't want him near your front room with a telly in it!

I wouldn't dispute this, all we had was a General who never went to the front line to watch the Tommy's climbing out of a ditch only to be mown down by the German machine guns- the Germans couldn't believe how stupid the British were.

another lie. you need to check casualties for generals killed in great war compared to ww11. then tell me who sat back!
 
supreme commander leading the battle? perhaps the king and president should have been at the front. Henry v didn't seem too bad when he had a go.

I personally wasn't born until long after Hitler's corpse burned, so when you say "ahead of you" you must be referring to all the allies including Britain when it came to trailing Nazi technology.

Chamberlain was PM. So anything the Americans did, regardless of timing, did not approach that in enabling
Hitler to proceed. We had isolationists that kept us out until after Dec 7 when that philosophy proved unprofitable. Either we are talking about countries or individuals but you can't equate all the individual Brits who opposed Chamberlain as the majority or he never would have been elected. The majority who voted for him effectively stepped aside by putting him in office.

I'm not that familiar with British government history, but we have a system here that allows a mathematical minority to elect the head man. That system has produced the two worst Presidents in modern history. What's your excuse for Chamberlain's ascendancy to power? Probably as weak as his laying down for Hitler.

It makes no matter who said what. What was done is what counted.
