Thank you. He would have left about 3 years before I went to work at Norton.

The "Working at AMC" website shows him as working at Plumstead Rd. Some of those personnel moved to Wolverhampton at the closing of the AMC works (about May, 1969) but my guess (since his immigration date is 1969) he went straight from Woolwich to Canada. He would have worked with Bob Trigg, A. H. K. ("Tony") Denniss, Bernard Hooper, John Favill, and some ex-AMC design office staff who moved to Wolverhampton -- people I worked with from 72 - 74.

Since Photobucket went to $300 a year, it's damned difficult to "share" photos, as this site requires. This is a Google Photos photo, and I can't figure out how to make it public. I'll keep digging or find another "photo hosting" opportunity. I can't think of any other website that I use that's as difficult as this one. Oh, well.

BFH - that's a PITFA!

The Alex I know is in his 60's and is an East-coaster, currently in Florida. Probably not related.

Sorry to hear of Frank Damp's passing. He was a wealth of Norton production history that can't be replaced.

Sorry to hear of Franks passing also we lost Percy Tait a couple of days ago
We certainly are aging

I am on holiday (along with my wife having a skiing injury that will require surgery in Germany), and am very sad to hear of Frank's passing...

Sorry to hear of your injury. Where were you skiing? I did quite a bit of skiing in Switzerland, Germany and Austria while in the Air Force at Hahn AB 1975-76.

We were at Brigels, the accident was on a tow lift at the bottom in the slush.

Anyway, the cost difference of surgery here vs U.S. almost pays for the entire trip!
