Sadly it will end up a clone of every other large town, most of the small traders and shops that gave it character have long gone as the old premises got pulled down...
Still got the pier and that daft pirate ship, though.

Yep it just looked like a shopping centre to me
Stupid lamposts and stainless steel everywhere
 
Sadly it just us older guys that miss the old times , change is in much more of a hurry these days … the late 60’s early 70’s sure were fun though !

I was on my Garelli Record cruising Southend lol, was a long way from Maldon for my moped.
