The embarrassing throwback pictures of your/our/my bikes & me

..this bike looks like a beast but it was fun to ride.

Back then, I'm sure it was. Nowadays, probably not so much.
Dig the Pan BTW.

Me from about 1977...this bike looks like a beast but it was fun to ride. Sorry about the photobucket thing across the middle but I don't know how to retrieve it without that damned thing.
Cool bike

Hi everybody,
I didn‘t take any photographs at the time but my friend with the long hair just sent me this one IOM 1978. My XS650 and me with glasses. This guy and I share the same misfortune; I sold him a clean genuine 63 RGS for 1200DM and he sold it on for 900!! We just did not know it at the time....☹️☹️

Great days just great.

Have a great Eastern

Martin

1978 was a really , really great year ! Thanks Martin for posting up and to your friend for saving photo .... ... came home from school on PEI that spring, reunited with my girl ( mar. 1980 still) we split on a VW van and with a few mods spent that glorious summer travelling NA , first time we got to see New York, if I recall correctly we spent $66 in gas to get there rather like a tortoise .... thanks very much Martin hadn’t thought of that summer much on last 40 odd years !!!

Was indeed a great year..... My 850 and I were grafted together. Love-hate on both parts forevermore.

About 1970-71 . Still got it . The bike , not the hair .

I had an 850T3 buried in my garage for a long time, sold it last year for £1250. Strange thing.... I did about 10000m on it, then bought a Hickley Trident. I wanted to like it by just didnt get on with it. Did get to like the linked brakes when riding in the wet though. I notice your propstand hasnt sprung itself up...

Summer 1969. 19 years old. Later that summer and visited England. Came back with a tank I bought at Dresda Motors from Dave Degen. Need to find pictures of the bike after I mounted and repainted.

The only people who should be embarrassed, are those who never got to feel the freedom, the thrill of riding in their your.
I couldn't agree more. I had a blast! Had a couple of street racing "close calls" that were due to poor judgement, but I started really young on lawn mower powered minibikes then a Honda Z-50, & later XR-75, lots of dirt bike riding which I think helps out a whole bunch towards learning what you can and can't do on two wheels. Anyway I always wore a helmet though (even with the "pre-requisite" long hair of the day). I have an old photo of me & my hot rod '78 CB750 somewhere that I've been looking for but can't seem find.

actually my avatar image was taken on my very first motorcycle ride. I'm the little goober far left checking out the upholstery in the hack. I was 3 or 4, and Joe, the guy who owned the Indian took my father my brother and me in the hack while he and his son rode on the bike. I'm guessing this was about 1958 or 59

Think a few of us had Triumphs loved my c&g exhausts

Gixer boys!

My mate had the slabby and I’d just got the brand new Slingshot. Boy did we think we were hot shots !

Note, although race reps were a thing… race rep riding gear wasn’t…
