The few guys racing Commandos I knew could never get them to work and just battled on with original Amals. In fact, I gave my MK2s to a guy that raced a Commando and he gave them back.

I just installed the Wassell copies of the Amals and they are excellent. The ones set up for the Mark III came with jetting that worked perfectly with my Mark III. For 300 bucks a pair, they solve a lot of problems.

The threading on the Wassels was, in fact, a little off compared to those on the original Amals. Very observant.
