Hi Tony,
Where did you purchase the DELTA 400 from, UK or California, and who did you deal with. Do you know where the maps for the 961 are created, if California would they be subject to emissions.
California does not test motorcycles for emissions after an individual purchases it. The 961 map I had uploaded was for a stock 961 with the Norton Short Open Slip-ons.

As far as I know there are two maps currently from SCS Delta for the Norton 961 : ( Stock 961 ) or ( 961 with race cans ) .

Mine would be the "961 with race cans".....if that clears things up.
Did you notice an increase in power 4000 rpm and higher ? If you have SXTune you can look and see what the map loaded is called , that is what mine says .

You may not have to spend the big $$$$ to join the Delta 400 club. Contact Stewart Taylor at SCS Delta USA. His email is st.tesystems@gmail.com or call 408-458-6845. They are located in Southern California.
They unlocked my SC Typhoon, uploaded the "latest 961 Cal file" and also included a CAN USB Cable to work with the software, if needed. I haven't needed to. This all cost WAY less than a Delta 400 setup! My idle speed is perfect at start up and low rpm hesitation problems are gone. I have not messed with my bike except for upgraded sensors and relays. My original O2 sensors are still installed.
My SE is a May 2014 build with the Norton Short Open Slip-ons. This ECU work was done last month. So far, so good.
Hello , I just wanted to mention that I spoke to Stewart Taylor on the phone yesterday. All the services offered by SCS Delta UK should be available from them including new ECU's , Interface and cables .

To tell you the truth I haven't really noticed...when I'm passing 4000 and heading toward 5000 and beyond, I am just trying to hang on! My other ride is a 1986 BMW R80RT so the Norton has always felt like a Rocketship to me!! I will hook up the cable and check out the software eventually, but for now everything is fine.

Great news.
This should make things a bit easier for us all.

All hooked up to send my SCS Typhoon to California to be unlocked and remapped. Includes USB Link stuff and link for map program download . I can remember when folks were throwing stink on the SCS ECUs. We'll see

Maybe its time to put some shine back on the SC ECU .

When did you have your Typhoon remapped, Sarge? I've contacted Stewart and pretty sure I'm going to send mine to California as well.

It was unlocked and remapped mid- October. Stewart was very responsive to all the questions I had and was great to deal with!

Stewart was a little evasive in his email response about what map they install. I asked about the race can map and he replied that the map they install has worked well with prior owners and dealers. He also sent me the link to download maps.

The map file .cal supplied to me by SCS for the Delta 400 ECU is named "SC 400 base".
I don't know if there are other maps for Delta 400

Hello , Delta 400 and SXTune users . The place to look for your map information is in ECU Configuration . As you can see you must read the notes and be hooked up to the ECU with key on to query . Have a look at mine :

Some Great news from SCS Delta , I just got this email :

Hi Anthony,

I hope you are well.

Yes, we actually purchased an EU3 Omex bike so that we can confirm full functionality of our kit. We have a full wiring translation for EU4 bikes, however because of Covid we have not yet tested this on a bike although have no reason to think that it wont work.

A full kit made of ECU, adapter loom and comms lead will be £833.

Best Regards

Matthew

Excellent. I think I’ll go that route...but mine has a typhoon, so easy. Mate has a Euro 4 2017, so he may well have (highly likely) an Omex....so that gives him an option should he need it.

Should be a direct replacement for your bike , don't forget to disconnect the battery when plugging in and out the ECU's .
