That area is well know for the sasquatch sightings. But it was daylight and those critters prefer the night so I didn't see nuthing.

Sasquatch Ride

I came up through Vancouver, and did that suck! Even had some cager asshole try to drag race me. Even on a very old bike I managed to not let him box me out.

Then up through the twisties all the way up to where it meets Lewis River Road.

Sasquatch Ride

Some guy came pulling up as I was trying to leave Yale Lake. He had turned around and came back just to look at the bike. He dove into his trunk to get his camera. He asked if this happened to me a lot. I said as a matter of fact...

I headed out to past the Ape Caves junction hoping for one single place to pull off and get a good picture of Mt. St. Helens, but never found one. I decided to turn around before I ran out of gas.

Then back to Woodland for lunch (around 2pm) and then down to La Center and Ridgefield, and back to downtown Vancouver and across the bridge to civilization. A lovely ride but with minimal padding on the seat it left the back end a little sore. Might need to give it a rest.

The only good shot of Mt. St. Helens was south of Ridgefield.

Hey Dave you must have been unlucky, my sister in law emailed me last night and wrote there's been one seen riding an old motorcycle.

Cash

ps. I'm green with envy, you've got good weather, good roads and can get out and ride. Now we've got a little sun my new knee is still playing up. Boy! life can be cruel at times.

I discovered that I went the wrong way to get the best view. Looks like I need to take another ride up there. Oh darn…

Nice pictures Dave! The pine trees remind me of growing up near Lake Tahoe California!

Well done swooheroo. I love the way its feels exploring on a Commando and taking in the new vistas. For some strange reason on other bikes I feel like I'm having to make them work to get around while on the Combat I feel like its the eager one taking me for a ride in the future. I creeped up on the tranny sprocket for 19T, 20T and 21T, to find I like the longer legged ease sense of less rpm cruise. If I want some hard pull just snick down to 2nd passing gear in mid range and hang on...

BTW have ya put a hand on the engine cases at highway speed to feel what the isolastics are doing for our enjoyment?

Hey Swoosh, I know the Prody Racer seat wasn't made for comfort but Im wondering are you using 1970's foam padding? Maybe some modern super dense gel pad or combo of the two would make those seats more, ah comfy on the old bum? What kind of stuff do they use on modern "race style" seats???

It's whatever Les uses so you know it's not the good stuff.

Yeah, so one of the winter projects is to upgrade the foam.

These are worth the money, if you need something softer.
My missus and a good friend both swear by them. You would need the small pilion size, and don't put very much air in them is the secret to making them work.
I had the foam replaced in my Mk3 and it is all that was needed, so I don't need the airhawk.
You fellows have some very nice country over there.

Hey Shwooshdave, what does the other side of your bike look like?
Go on, give us a glimsp.
I always reckon the timing side looks best.

Hello Dave, where is the camera mounted? On the bike somewhere?
I bought a Gopro (haven't got it yet) and haven't tried different mounting locations.
Your sound is ok is it muffled?

Its a really old Oregon Scientific camera. Shoots really bad 640x480.

It's mounted hanging under the left handlebar. I'll get a picture of it today for you.

I have to heavily tweak the sound or all you hear is wind noise and a little engine. I take out the wind noise with the equalizer and pull up the rumble of the exhaust.

In person the bike sounds fantastic. At 4000+ rpm it absolutely howls.

I tend to take pictures of the left (primary side) as that's the side it's leaning to on the sidestand.

TS is traditionally considered the prettier C'do side, but on Swooh's bike the primary case is missing the cover caps so always looks to me like teeth missing in a smile to un-wisely expose belt drive to road grit as there is no reason to ventilate the area in a road going or off road playing C'do d/t belt of alternator needs.

I"m not saying its a bad thing to ventilate in more potential heat producers so I have providing forced air through Peel's 3 belts in primary area, but with a fiber filter ahead of the intake.

I forgot to mention that the only reason the caps are off is to bug Steve.
