RGM Dave Taylor head steady fit.

In my defense the other beer in the fridge is a proper beer, Marstons Old Empire IPA.
Quite malty compared to new world IPA's, and bottled so no shims possible.
 
I cut down a feeler gauge in the end!
Seems solid enough.
Not ridden it yet but seems to have got rid of sideways movement on the rear wheel.

I went for a similar approach but I put the cap in mu mill and milled off a few thou’. Worked a treat.

To do my part for this wonderful group and establish myself as a team player I can offer this service. If any amongst you will send me high end craft beer ( canned obviously) I will be happy to drain said cans in an environmentally sensitive way and will cut the empty cans into strips for shimming as required and send the strips on to the end user - postage free in USA . No thanks necessary.

Wish you had made this offer two days ago...when I found myself in need of shimming clutch side switch gear to my Commando. Had to go an guzzle a Railside Pale Ale just to get the job done!

My 850 has the italian frame with the smaller diameter lower tube, I just put the head steady bracket in the milling attachment on my lathe and shaved off some material. Probably could have done it with a file, it doesn't take much to make it fit.
