Super Visor
I use one and would not want to be without it.
You know like when you are riding west late in the day you put your hand up in front of your face shield to block the sun. If the sun does not shine directly on your face shield you can actually see where you are going. With one of these you can keep your hand on the grip where it belongs. Works very well.

Kind of Batman mean looking. I use ~1" of alu tape across top of flip up face plate so can shift helmet and head a bit to block flying into blinding sun. I often have face shield up so also put tape at bottom to shade eyes with shield not quite all the way open. Does not block any view just sun.

Sun glasses with sealing cushions help cold air drying eyes out but tends to fog up even in summer so waiting for no regret climate controlled helmet.

It might sound strange, but it works....

Try applying some black insulation tape across the top of your visor, so that it’s just in your peripheral vision but not your line of sight.

This acts as a sun shield without the disadvantages of a peak (high speed buffeting / neck strain... and batman looks).

Original size front mudguard(fender) that hugs the front wheel much closer than the later version. Looks much better on mine as I have a 90/90 19 front rim.

Yup, I've seen enough black Nortons for 2 lifetimes, anyhow purple was a standard colour (metalflake ) for Commandos in the early seventies.

Super visor is better. I have used the tape off the top of the shield thing. The difference is that with taping off the top of your shield you are keeping the sun from shining in your eyes (which is good), but you are not blocking the sun from causing glare on your shield. The Super Visor shades your shield. Big Difference.
I am a skeptic and scoffed at my friend who told me to get one. I said the same things that you guys are saying. I have never noticed any buffeting (Gl1500 with shortened windshield).
This thing frickin works!
Sorry for blowing up.

Alrighty, snotty counterpoint on shield shading is worth knowing. Looks well vented so I didn't think buffeting an issue until so fast just snatches the shade or helmet off.

I never regretted
An obnoxious huge tall clear windcreen with lowers below gas tank allowed all weather still air comfort protection I could light a cig no matter what speed, as long as moving as if still cold breeze or rain was felt. No handling issues but sense of dampening of wind gusts or semi truck blasts. Was tall enough wind blast only hit upper 2" of helmet w/o buffet, not face or chest or knees. Mounting hardware quality matters.

Bar end streamlined hand shields with under slung mirrors blocked most the wind on hands. 20'F with just a sweat shirt under jacket was toasty and fun to see frosted car passengers wide eye'd viewing Commando addict. With heat packs in gloves and boots could do hours w/o notice.
