I have a 2013 Comando Sport. During the running in period to the first service, I had no oil problems. After it was serviced at the dealer (500 miles) I had an small oil leak so I retuned it to the dealer. He replaced the O ring on the bottom of the motor and tested it and everything was fine. When I was driving home I could smell oil smoke so I knew it was leaking again! At one red light smoke was pouring from the engine block. I made it home safely without the engine light coming on.
I lost quite a bit of oil on my garage floor and I had my girlfriend to sit on the bike to keep it centered while I lay on the ground trying to determine the source. The oil continued to drip about 15 minutes after the bike had stopped and it appeared to be coming from where the oil pump is bolted the engine. I was difficult to determine the precise source because the oil was new and clear. I dont have a torque wrench but I checked the allen bolts and they were all "snug."
I will be trailering it back to the dealer after the weekend, but I would appeciate to hear if anyone has had similar problems.
1. The leak only appeared after the 500 mile service
2. The leak only appears after the bike has run for 20 minute or so at highway speed.
3. The leak continues to drip for at least 20 minutes after the bike has stopped and since the engine is now totally covered in oil it is difficult to precisely determine the source.
