Well, like the LSU-Alabama football game (a reference for us Yanks), it was a struggle down to the last play!. My post of yesterday of how to remove a rounded bolt came down to using a nut buster, which destroyed the nut but left the bolt intact. I tried the special socket that was supposed to hold rounded bolts and it failed.

This gizmo worked like a charm! If you've never seen one, the other end of the point is a 3/4" bolt head that screws in and fractures the bolt. You do it in 2 places and voila! a split nut. Engine and tranny now comfortably out of the frame and now the fun begins!
