Front Isolastic rubber instalation

i did mine recently , quite simple , do a search on this forum and you should find a video that shows how , i was not aware there was a tool !,

Was able do it with fingers and a small dull screwdriver used as a pusher.

No disrespect to AN or RGM but £36+P&P of my hard earned for a tool which will very really used, i have to ask the question??

I replaced both the front and the rear without the need for a tool,,,after removing the old set i made sure to clean out the "tube" with a mild wire brush attached to a drill, (a fair amount of crap/corrosion was present) not a big deal,,and then as you say use a good lube to install the new bits. a good series of youtube videos showing the process for the front is on the MyTy Garage channel. nicely done videos

Yup, no special tool needed for rubber removal/insertion. Helps to rotate the old sections with long screw driver so that inner tube is not in line with the bore of the bracket tube. I didn't have P70 nor Red Rubber Grease and had been warned of using a petroleum based lube on these, so went with Dielectric grease, as I had a tube handy and it is rubber safe/silicone based. Easy to insert new rubber into cleaned/greased bore. Can use a suitable diameter socket that presses at periphery of rubber rather than close to inner tube so rapping with a hammer gets force where it's needed.
Are you doing the rear with engine in frame? Have heard it's a bear and that the full length one piece vernier is just not possible to do in rear without engine out. The multi piece setup can be made vernier with Mick Hemmings adjuster caps, and that can be done with engine in frame and careful rotation of engine forward/down, etc.

The front from AN is easy. Grease and push it in. The rear is harder, but again, grease and push it in. No tools needed. I use the red grease AN sells for the purpose. One container will last for the next 20-30 bikes.

Some certain brand(s) of front adjustables are a pain without the tool. I never committed it to memory, so can't pinpoint which. I've replaced over a dozen sets, and 3 or 4 were a fuss.
