thanks for the photos, nice to see it as it sits now and also in it's previous glory days :D

You got everything there to make it look good the way it is, just give it a good paint job and do a few things that suit your own taste without spending a big bucket of money, use what you got, maybe a set of fish tail mufflers, remember its still a chopper, just make it your own, it seems to be complete the way it is.

I used to have hotted up 650 Triumphs which were quite quick. Once I was between bikes and built one of my motors into a rigid frame. It was petrifying to ride fast.

IT RUNS!!! Sunday: poured some oil in the tank and the box, fresh gas in the tank, ignition on and....no. Found out after a while and a few start attempts that I didn´t need to enrich the fuel mix (to use the choke in Swedish, don´t know the English or American expression). I have no experience of these Mikunis, but I´ll learn. So I tried again, and then it started up, just like that! I only ran it for a minute, my garage is in the basement of a neighbouring house, so I didn´t want to disturb the Sunday calm. But it feels great, it ran easy after 10 or 11 years of sleep. So if the weather keeps up I´ll go for a short testdrive in a day or two.

[/acotrel] I never rode really fast, just "highway fast", maybe 100-130 km/h, steady as a rock. You probably had a whole different experience....

[/ashman] Yes the bike is complete, but I don´t like the way it looks! So I have to do something about that, I just have to.....

[/cjandme] Thanks for the thumbs up, it sure was the glory days! (and I want them back :( )

Rock on! I can only imagine how much of an oil cloud it created in an enclosed area. Did you get video to post to Youtube?

This is by far the nicest version of a rigid norton commando I have ever seen. If it was my bike, I would leave it just like it appears below... Sweet!

Hi Nathan!
Thanks, but I sadly have to report that there was no cloud of oil :D , was a bit surprised, started thinking in the terms of "did I really fill any oil?". But I had, it just didn´t smoke, and I didn´t run it that long either, so it never did come up in temperature. I also noted when I removed the rocker covers to pour oil in there that the engine seems to be very clean inside. I´m wondering if it has done so many miles at all, the oil that was in it was also very clean, I was a bit surprised when it poured out of the engine and the oiltank.
I did shoot a short video with my phone, but I haven´t posted it on the tube. I tried to write a comment once about a music clip I think, but that didn´t end well. It was registration here and bl-y facebook there and who knows what, so I just couldn´t bother  . I might try again some time...

Hi, and thanks!
Maybe I´ll ship it (not the engine of course) to you later this coming winter? :D Glad you like it, but I still don´t, can´t get to grips with this riding position, feet up front which is ok, but then you have the handlebars far in front, and low as well, I just don´t get it! I´ve found some old handlebars that´s a bit higher, testing that now. But luckily we all have different opinions, if not it would be a pretty boring life! I´ve just received a big pile of documents on the bike from the authorities, and this version of the bike was actually built already in 1990. That seems a little early for this style, but that´s the facts. The frame is built here in Sweden, and the rest is pieces from different bikes and some homemade parts as well.
