Ohlins would be your best bet.

When I had my low rider and low rider ST, Ohlins had a longer rear adjustable shock for more travel.

Yep - didn't mind the V-Rod at all. Why did they stop making them? Best thing they ever did!

The v-Rod may handle ok when compared to other Harley’s, but it’s still a Harley

Also, not the best position for your sense of balance, or machine control.
I would never use ape hanger handlebars either, but some swear by them, go figure.
