Norton Exclusive

As Voodooo says, I had one of those Stephen, you really should pay more attention as I was offering it at a bargain price!

Mine was the white faced version, which I much preferred personally. But as there was no interest I looked into part exchanging it against another watch, and to my surprise, they offered me much more than I was asking privately !

Anyway, the Bremont Norton is a very nice watch, it’s a proper premium watch, not some tarted up Chynese shite, so they certainly ain’t cheap, but they’re good, and bit different, and it’s a Norton Edition… !
I did see that FE and a very nice watch indeed. Regardles of the fact that my wife would likely have castrated me with a rusty spoon, I am very much drawn to the black/tan colouring. In the same way that I was only really interested in the black/gold 961.

Luckily I have my big 60 coming up - already dropping hints, leaving random pictures around and using other (usually female) manipulation techniques! Ya gotta think like the enemy;)!

That’s a different watch altogether. Norton originally tied up with Bremont.

The Bremont Norton edition has Norton on the dial, and also, they’re a British made watch (with Swiss movement) which is cool IMHO, a Brit watch for your Brit bike.

Personally I don’t think they have their pricing right for a 13 year old machine which supposedly had over 300 changes ( I doubt that ) and I agree why discount with a so called premium brand it tells me they haven’t had the desired up take on new machines. Knowing the problems with the early 961 people will still back off because the price of parts and labour are through the roof . Wouldn’t it be better to have a lower price and get people interested and build from there. They offered £7250 for my 2016 sport which with all the mods is as good as their new one.
Exactly. 13 year old bike with 40 year old technology at 2030 pricing.

Yep, showed that for the colour option - bike in the background. They are both beautiful watches - always been drawn to Breitling, but prefer the Bremont‘s dial markings and the heritage angle is definitely a plu-plus!

Ive been looking for a 1938 speed twin or a Norton international model 30 . I would literally sell my commando to buy one of these.
I wouldn’t sell as you know, but I’d dearly love one of these in my garage also - if I had room. Authentic vintage charm and character by the bucket load!

Interesting article:

I’m not a fan of that R18. Too long. Uncomfortable and not my cup of tea. Have you sat on, or ridden one?
Cruisers/customs are definitely not my bag Voodoo, although I don’t mind the look of the Beemer for some unknown reason; reeks classy classical cruiser - may be because it’s not a Harley though. Never sat on one.

I was put off cruisers from a very young age by a learned and compulsory dislike of Harleys. As a young biker in my day you either liked them and wouldn’t ride anything else, or were a member of the rest (read majority) of the biking community that openly ridiculed them!

Totally ridiculous of course, never ridden one let alone owned a Harley so any dislike is ill informed at best! Still not interested though - don’t even stop to look when I see a flash one! That learned dislike is lifelong it seems. One of the many things in life that make absolutely no sense!

Cruisers are much faster and more capable than they used to be… and acceptable / safe roads speeds are much slower than they used to be.

Net result: a decent cruiser is easily able to maintain the speeds most of us do most of the time.

Sold my Harley last year. Regretted it and missed it until I bought another earlier this year!

(Confession: I have faster bikes as well, for when this jus’ ain’t enough)

I know. I get it. I spent years there. Younger me wouldn’t have been seen dead on one !

But it’s a very nice ride.

The Harley haters are an interesting breed. They like to talk about how Harley riders are aloof and ignore all none Harley riders etc.

Well let me tell you… I have to wave like Charlie Chaplin on amphetamines, just to get a response half the time at best! None Harley riders just blank me when I’m on the Harley. It’s very striking.

So I’ve given up. I’m now one of those Harley riders who ignores all others when I’m on my Harley. The arm ache was just getting too much!

Thank you. But I’m in the states.

Hello FE , I still have my Harley !

I may be trading it on a Sportster S 1250 . With a rear 1in. lift kit it turns into a real corner scorcher looks good too. I really like that Rev Max power plant .
Are you ok with that limited rear suspension travel? Even with the 1” extension?

I sat on one and I’m only 6’ tall and I was cramped feeling. The motor is great power.
