I have been asked this by Peter Rogers and thought it best to post here to see if you know the answer. Please respond by posting here with any info:

Dear Sirs,
I’m a guide at the London Motorcycle Museum in Greenford. Someone has sent me a picture of a Commando with a sidecar loaded with fire fighting equipment.
The company I worked for, Graviner, specialised in Fire protection for aircraft and vehicles. In 1972 we were asked to develop various ideas for the protection of racing cars. This involved protecting the driver and also a quick and nimble circuit fire engine.

At the time Norton and BRM racing cars were owned by the same company so someone at Norton was asked to build the sidecar to be equipped by Graviner.
The picture titled ‘TrackFireOutfit’ looks like it was taken at the Norton works in Wolverhampton where it was built. The sidecar chassis was welded directly to the frame of the Commando and had a 2 man crew.
From a personal point of view, I am trying to find out if the outfit still exists. From a Museum point of view it is part of the local history. Graviner was based at Colnbrook close to Heathrow airport.
Would it be possible to trace who took the picture TrackFireOutfit, where and when?
Best Regards,
Peter Rogers.

The same picture as the first, is in Jeff Clew's book Norton Commando Super Profile (p.47) the caption says it was used at Silverstone and the photo is credited to Mike Jackson so Andover Norton will probably know, or be able to pass the request on to Mike Jackson.

Thanks, Jerry for "re-kindling" these great photos. Damn, 72's are effing awesome!
