Folks,

As the future of parts for our bikes is uncertain I'm collating a list of alternate parts for 961's. This is purely a list, so please don't start commenting, comparing one against the other or generally derailing (as has been know to happen on the odd occasion here) I've already mentioned this to Jerry and if we can keep it in a common format he will see about putting together a sticky list. So here is what I've got together so far. Feel free to add, but please just the description, manufacturer and their part number plus any helpful notes as you see below. Alternatively just P.M. me and I will add to the list. (It will probably be neater that way actually)

Hi Great list . Can I ask if the front pads for a Sport with Axial gold calipers is listed ?

I think this is a good idea. Keep posting to the list here and if it turns into multiple pages, I will build a database so we can search parts easily.

cheers

We will add what we can

Fuel Pump O-ring McMaster Carr # 1295N668 Chemical-Resistant Viton® Fluoroelastomer O-Ring 5 mm Wide, 90 mm ID

Fuel Pump- Complete unit can be sourced from Ducati or Aprilia

Fuel Filter- MAHLE Original KL 145

Fuel Pressure Regulator can be sourced from Ducati (28340031A) or Aprilia but the cheapest we found was here at CA Cycleworks https://ca-cycleworks.com/fpr35k.html Make sure you have the right pressure setting. 3.5 bar

961 Original Stator Alternator Generator/with Crank Sensor Elextrex World - OEM 5300003 - G961

TPS- cts 04tp002

Fuel Injector - Intermotor FJ647 is a good replacement and can get at most auto parts

Idle Air Valve - Lowe 57177

Carbon Fiber repairs on chain guard - Twill weave is what you want

Flasher Relay- We change them to adjustable so they work with LED like this one here 12V Speed Adjustable 2 Pin Direct Replacement Compatible LED Electronic Flasher Relay

Also there are at least 3 wiring diagrams that are out there but there may be more since we have run across non matching diagrams

And should there be a map room for those of us that have maps or have modified maps that work for certain units?

Tesa Wire Loom Harness Tape- This is the cloth tape the wiring is wrapped in available on Amazon or euro parts house

rear chain: I spoke to Talon two weeks ago, and they have a lot of 525 rear chains bought for Norton and not used.

Folks, thanks for the positive feedback and the suggestions. At the moment I'm going to avoid adding generic / upgrade / bling stuff . This is all about "keeping the bikes running" And I decided the best thing to do is copy all your knowledge up into the original first post, that way you won't need to trawl through pages of posts to find what you want. If you see any blatant mistakes please P.M. me.

TonyA, as far as I can see EBC list only two brake pads for the 961, however if I look on Ebay there are three coming up. Does your bike have 2 or 4 pads in each caliper?

Jan Nelder thanks for the chain info. any idea how much they want for them ? Perhaps a group buy could be setup ?

Unless you’re wanting to keep it all oem original, I’d go with the ThreeD chains instead.

Yes , I can vouch that Gold Fren 141 is the pads for the Gold Axial Brembo calipers and
Gold Fren 152 is the rear so seems to match the Grey calipers .
Lets not forget the Triumph tip over sensor that is an exact replacement for the 961 Tip over sensor :
Switch , Fall Detection T2502405

I was chatting today to a guy who rebuilt a very early 961 for racing. He was a bit hazy on specifics as it was 8 years ago, but he did mention that mechanical parts bore more than a passing resemblance to small block Chev parts.

the staff at the event weren’t really sure, and said maybe about £35, but that was show price. So need to contact the company!

Rear : FA266HH

Hi Tony, yes I did a lot more research and think I got the pads right, but added a little more to the description to help identify which are which.

If you look below the Modern Norton forum, you will see a "Sub-forum" that will take you to the new Alternative Parts list. I will be adding to it and making it look nicer. I am trying to keep things under certain categories. You will see this page change over time and I might move it up to the resources section, not sure yet. Stay tuned...

Just a heads up. Ive had a customers bike fail on me with a Durite relay, for which I need to now do a 3-4hr round trip to rectify. His symptoms are blowing the 5a (euro 4 bike) the moment he turns on the main beam. I had another eight Durites delivered yesterday and one of those eight are doing the same thing with another euro4 bike Ive got in. Coil resistance on the faulty relay is 0.3ohm, good they're 98/99ohm. So probably worth checking the coils resistance before fitting.
The Durites are a diode relay, and the blue Norton relays are resistor types. I'm not 100% on interchangeability.... I'm waiting for more info.

Thanks for the heads up Stu. Let us know how it goes and if you think it's a general issue we can take them off the list.
