Newly made P11 high level exhaust pipes.

Great job! I’m quite a way off finishing my second P11 Ranger and intend to fit it with high level pipes this time. Can you add me to the list please when they become available.

Wow. This doesn't happen every day in my world. Received a FedEx shipment from Suzhou China today. This was truly an international collaboration done with professional attention to shipping and manufacturing detail. Back in November of last year I sent my rather rare English made Norton P11 high level exhaust pipes to my supplier near Toronto, CN. They sent them on to their manufacturing experts in China for accurate replication. Six months later I now have my originals back with a nice set of un-chromed examples to use for validation. My original chrome examples are now marred with spot weld marks for the copying process but that's easily fixed by re-chroming, I think? In any case, I'm to receive another set of the final version. Hopefully, all this effort will generate enough profit for all concerned and keep the P11 faithful in a fresh supply for the future?

I've recently added photos, please check the new posts on this thread.

Hi Jerry,
Do you intend to have a bunch made to sell to those of us in need? Or will the sale of these pipes be from one or more of your partners on this project?
I would want at least one pair if they fit properly.

Thanks,
Ed

I've done this project through Mike Partridge at Walridge. He should be the 1st vendor.

A little more history on this project. Mike at Walridge and his supplier Harry in China started working on this a couple years ago. I was at Walridge picking up parts for my Ranger resto and Mike showed me Harry’s prototype pipes. Mike asked if I would test fit them on my bike.
The pipes fit decently but the shape was way off, definitely would not be accepted by customer looking for proper pipes, (although they would work for a neat custom scrambler). I took lots of pics and measurements and compared them to a set of repop pipes I have on the shelf. My left pipe fits perfectly, the right is way off, so still was not the best example for copying. We decided that the best course of action would be to try and find a set of originals to copy. I reached out to several people in the P11 community and Jerrykap stepped up to the plate and provide a set of rare originals to copy. Jerry’s pipes made the trek from California to Walridge in Ontario, down the road to my place for another test fitting and a lot of pictures, then back to Walridge and onward to Harry in China, eventually returning home to Jerry along with the latest version of Harry’s repops.
This has been a true international endeavour, and we all hope to see some correct pipes for everyone’s early P11’s on the shelf in the near future. Thanks to all involved, B!

Would be nice if the proper fitting P11 high pipes end up reasonably priced like other chromed Ranger downpipe exhausts, but I kind of doubt it based on what Baxter wants for the not so good fitting versions sold today. Too negative?

Still a good thing it is being done right though.

Last week I ordered these pipes from Mike. Will take some weeks to arrive here.
I hope that they are as good as the prototypes tested by Jerry.

I think you'll like them. Mine didn't have to travel as far as yours, and they arrived today. The box was in bad shape, but the pipes were undamaged. My bike won't be ready for them any time soon, but here's a couple photos of one along side one of my originals.

With gratitude to all involved in bringing these to market,
Dave

Very interested in seeing them installed on the bike.
On my P11, the pipes are in good shape, but they point in different directions, so looking at the rear, the outlets are not even.
I'd like to fix it.

I never got pipes from Baxter Cycle. I've always been able to use OEM ones, even if they were a bit rough in looks. The ones I supplied for copying were original. Easy to tell because they are cut and welded before the first bend. The ones that came back from China are made the same as OEM.
Interesting and a bit sad we have to rely on craftmanship in China these days. I know ... hour rates. It's good of Mike Partridge to step in. In the end the chinese fabricator will require a minimum order of 100 or maybe even 500 pairs.
