Wow. This doesn't happen every day in my world. Received a FedEx shipment from Suzhou China today. This was truly an international collaboration done with professional attention to shipping and manufacturing detail. Back in November of last year I sent my rather rare English made Norton P11 high level exhaust pipes to my supplier near Toronto, CN. They sent them on to their manufacturing experts in China for accurate replication. Six months later I now have my originals back with a nice set of un-chromed examples to use for validation. My original chrome examples are now marred with spot weld marks for the copying process but that's easily fixed by re-chroming, I think? In any case, I'm to receive another set of the final version. Hopefully, all this effort will generate enough profit for all concerned and keep the P11 faithful in a fresh supply for the future?

I've recently added photos, please check the new posts on this thread.

Sounds good.

Can't link to anything posted in a private group on face book. That's what it looks like you may have done.

I keep a hosted space just for posting pics in forums. $5 a month, plus a once a year charge of $27 to keep the website name registered. It's essentially an unconstructed website with nothing but pics on it. It is neither a waste nor good use of money, it just is.

Thanks for keeping the flame alive.

Here it is on the wastebook P11 group page:

Rats, I'm about to give up on this website. I can't easily post my photos and I don't think there's much value in my VIP membership.

You should download the image from fecebook, then upload it here.

Just checking to see if posting pics is more complex than 3 years ago.
My concern, back in the day, was the elongated section, of new P11 pipes from Armour , coming from the heads

hope you can figure out how to post
thanks

A wonderful thing you did there Jerry, thank you. The Armours pair I bought and had shipped to NY did not fit at all. Luckily Randy Baxter flogged me some originals that are now on the bike. Its good to know that decent repops will soon be available, albeit from China.....

Coincidental yesterday I ask the "supplier near Toronto, CN" for high pipes which look similar to the originals.
The answer was: they are currently made in China and will be available "later this summer".
It is nice that you confirmed this and give us more information.
Please try again to upload the picture.

Hi Bantam,
Were the pipes you got from Randy used or were they the pipes that he sells as new?

Thanks,
Ed

Hi Jerry,
I'm very hopeful that this will work out. In fact, I was speaking with Randy at Baxter Cycle today and he wants them if they come through.

But they're on my photos on my computer, I should be able to put them on easily. I thought it was part of the VIP fees? It seems to me it used to work that way?

I'm working on it...I fitted the prototypes today and they look great. There's a couple of small issues that I'll bring to their attention. Danke

I never got pipes from Baxter Cycle. I've always been able to use OEM ones, even if they were a bit rough in looks. The ones I supplied for copying were original. Easy to tell because they are cut and welded before the first bend. The ones that came back from China are made the same as OEM.

I just tried to add the photo's again. No joy. Maybe if I upload them to my Shutterfly share site 1st all be able to link them in? Honestly, this site is becoming a pita.

i click on the next post.
i don't even type any text.
i click on attach files.
a window opens to my picture files on my computer (90% .jpg files).
i select a .jpg photo and click on open.
sometimes it hangs up and doesn't load, click on trash symbol, try again, sometimes doesn't load again, repeat.
it loads, i need to select thumbnail or full.
this is full.
it loads

I like that you used my photo. Those were a fun project.

@jerrykap There is a difference between using the "Attach files" paper clip icon at the BOTTOM of the text input dialog box, and using the little icon for "Insert image" at the top center of the dialog box (with several other icons).

Those two options work differently, although I can use either one successfully as a VIP member.

I typically use the bottom one for images stored on my computer, and the top one for inline images from hyperlinks to other online content.

Have the chinese pipes been mounted on a bike? That's the photo I'd like to see.
The ones on my P11 don't fit right. One is higher than the other and the angles of the ends don't match.
I'd buy better fitting ones in a heartbeat. Doesn't matter that they are Chinese (although I'd prefer them being made in the Western World).

You don't show as a VIP member on my browser, there is normally a green banner under the username, GP's banner is showing.

I use postimage.org, load them up to the site and add links to the thread post.

OK, so my problem was unknown to me, my VIP membership had lapsed. I ponied up another years worth just so I could easily post my photos. There will be more later as I now have the prototypes mounted on my rough & ready beater bike, I'll also post my observations on fitting them when I have more time. Here are the photos as they came in from China.

Bingo, you nailed it. I thought VIP membership renewed automatically, it doesn't.

Just as an aside.... I'm guessing Armour may have changed their supplier over the years. My P11 came from Randy Baxter as a: 'Rolling restoration' in 1988/89 with one and a half (!) original pipes in an attendant 'parts' box.
The pipes I ordered from Armour fitted okay, though I notice (hence my speculation) that whilst the originals and their latest offerings have flared ends, mine came with fabricated 'square' ends...

So now that I can post photos again, here are several shots of the un-chromed prototype P11 hi pipes. I believe these will turn out to be reliable, faithful reproductions that will benefit all of us for years to come. The people involved in bringing this project to fruition are all top notch. Here are several photos of the porotype pipes fitted to my beater P11.
