Isn't the tail light always on (with key switch on ) with this system?

No my tail light only comes on when the head light is switched on, depends on where you connect the tail light wire to I run a toggle switch for the head and tail light.

Slight Update,
I bought another case cover and polished it by hand just for the challenge, took 4 hours over three days and I started at 80grid sandpaper and worked my way through to 2000. The photo isnt a true representation of how it came up, but I hit it on the polishing wheel and I was very happy with the result.
I also bought a degree wheel from a mate who makes them so that i can tune the electronic ignition properly, although at the moment it seems to go great.

Still waiting for the Corbin Gunfighter Seat. Apparently the 12week wait doesnt go very fast...

The tank and side covers are now black and the decals/pin striping has been done.

Required in Texas.

Using red wire for negative??

Notice the large bold lettered note at the bottom of the diagram "(DISREGARD WIRE COLOR LABELS)"

_________________________________________________

For meter lights, wire to switched side of light switch.

For turn signals, wire flasher to switched side of keyswitch.

There is an option for 3-position light switch, but it means more wires and not nearly as clean a layout.

Why's that? The kit comes with spare wire only red and black and they are simple to figure out what is what. The red wire only bridges across the coils, i wont get confused.
I just followed the tri-spark manual.
